New Delhi: Celebrity nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar is famed for sharing holistic healthcare tips with everyone. On one hand, where nutrition experts warn against the intake of deep-fried foods like pakoras and recommend abstinence from specific food groups, Rujuta recommends eating everything in moderation.

In 2008, when actress Kareena Kapoor Khan trimmed her figure to the iconic ‘size zero’, she credited her success to yoga and Rujuta Diwekar’s diet plan – and surprisingly, this included popular Punjabi delights like tandoori chicken and aloo ka parantha. Although it has been years since that success story, it was long after that Rujuta took to her social media to spread the word about eating right across seasons and to educate the common people on fitness and a healthy lifestyle. This includes videos and posts on all food groups and some yoga and exercise-related ideas as well.

Why is eating at the right time essential to fitness?

Eating the right foods before workouts is the best way to f

uel the body for a session of intense muscular wear and tear which is why it is extremely important to make the ideal nutrition choices. But that is not where it ends; one also needs to be wary of timing the pre-workout meal right for best results.

Most recently, Rujuta took to Instagram to share knowledge on pre-workout meals that can help get the best results by just eating right. In her recently-commenced 12-week fitness project, she demonstrated workout routines to be followed for an entire week with easily-available home equipment and free-hand exercise routines, she urged followers to stretch their bodies properly once a week.

In another post, she shared tips on how to time pre-workout meals the right way to fuel workouts. This includes:

1. If working out after a heavy meal, an individual should rest for at least 90 minutes before exercising 2. One should consume a light meal at least 60 minutes before the workout 3. If you like to munch on fruit before exercising, eat it 10-15 minutes before the workout 4. Keep doing this 12 to 15-minute workout daily from week one to four

As explained by the celeb nutritionist, following a good meal plan can help optimise the calorie burning process the right way and it fuels the muscles too while lowering injury risk. As a pro tip, she also stressed not working out on an empty stomach or after consuming a hot beverage like tea or coffee.
